MANDATORY OVERTIME
On Tuesday June 24, 2008 both houses of the State Legislature passed the Mandatory Overtime Legislation. The Governor signed the bill on August 14, 2008. This Legislation, which will take effect in 1 year to allow hospitals to hire more staff, will outlaw Mandatory Overtime except in emergency situations.

440 Lenox "Coffee Bar"
June 18, 2008
Earlier this week a "Coffee Bar" suddenly appeared, taking up most of the Lobby in the Nurses' Residence. After complaints from residents of the building, I notified Downstate Management that the cart was in violation of our agreement with them concerning use of the building. The cart is now gone.
